NEW ORLEANS, LA – A New Orleans Saints post-game press conference at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, which featured Sean Payton, Matt Cassel, and Drew Brees, among others, was repeatedly interrupted Sunday by an unauthorized male individual who repeatedly kept singing the United States national anthem over 12 times in a row. “He must have interrupted us around ten times… Security would escort him out of the building, only to have him show up a few minutes later, singing right where he left off” press conference coordinator Walt Michelson reported. The man, who at this time has not been identified, first interrupted the press conference by making significantly loud and distracting “caw” sounds, similar to that of the American Bald Eagle. “What’s crazy is that he was actually quite remarkable, he hit all the high notes perfectly, even while running from security around the room.” Security at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome stated in a press release that they had a “repeated disturbance” but refused to comment any further on the matter.
After the 12th interruption, the unidentified man was arrested by New Orleans off-duty police and booked on trespassing charges after he had been asked to leave the previous 11 times. “If it weren’t so distracting I would have actually enjoyed it” – Walt Michelson, press conference coordinator, Mercedes Benz Superdome.
